Yves-$aint-Lambert Dives Into Cosmic Nostalgia with Sultry Cut ‘PANTHEON’

Blurring the lines between attraction and delusion, ‘PANTHEON’ bathes in sweltering French touch and slick Cosmic disco. The result is both retro and contemporary, elegant yet fervent.

There’s a lot to like about Yves-$aint-Lambert. Active since 2023, the Belgian artist and producer has developed quite a hypnotic brand of cosmic disco, French touch, and nostalgia-coded synth-pop allure. One could even hint at Italo disco, although it’s clear that Lambert draws from a rather wide pool of influences. The project’s ‘PANTHEON’ EP was released just a few days ago, and it’s quite a trip. It’s obviously club-oriented material, the kind of record that would fit an euphoric dancefloor as much as a niche record store party. It’s also incredibly cool and fresh. It’s an EP we are proud to have discovered.

Digging into ‘PANTHEON’, its title track instantly captures our attention. The aural formula laid out in the piece is one that we have seen a good amount of times already, one that never disappoints. You’ve got your retro-flavoured, synth-laden disco groove, dynamic yet haunting and sombre; then, you’ve got overarching sweltering spoken words, here delivered with heightened fervour. It reminds us of Glüme and Miss Kittin, among others. That said, there’s a nutritious and expansive list of like-minded projects one could mention.

We have established where Yves-$aint-Lambert comes from, but where is he going? Well, the sky is the limit, but he’s managed to position his music into a very unique corner, a sign of his progressive creative vision and overall boldness. He’d be the right booking for an alternative summer party, perhaps one with a retro flair. ‘PANTHEON’ (the track) embraces the concept of obsession, here seen through an urgent, intense lyrical lens, one that blurs the lines between attraction and delusion.
