V.E.N! Shares Powerful EP ‘THE BEAUTY OF DANGER’

‘THE BEAUTY OF DANGER’ represents a striking insight into V.E.N!’s aural dualism; melodic and mellow, but also bold and angular.

We approach ‘THE BEAUTY OF DANGER’ with a certain reverence. The EP is both simple and complex, constantly oscillating between lighter, melodic sections and more intricate, distorted bits. This contrast could be seen as a powerful dualism, one that doesn’t just characterise ‘THE BEAUTY OF DANGER’ as a whole, but that also marks the heightened artistic ethos behind V.E.N! Hailing from Sevilla, Spain, the talented musician and songwriter uses that acronym to signify ‘Virtual Emotions Network’.

Known by days as Edu Campoy, V.E.N! enjoys two major musical influences, one being power pop and the other being progressive rock. This makes perfect sense with the eclecticism found in the EP. Packed with five episodes, the record feels expansive and soothing, but also hard-hitting and bold. Tracks such as ‘Now’ and ‘The Silence of God’ venture on the power-pop side, carrying a certain theatrical flair with them. Elsewhere, ‘Cloud of Bliss’ and ‘Walk on Fire’ feel more angular and complex, still retaining a very friendly allure.

Delving deeper into the relatable message that lies behind ‘Now’, Campoy explains: “It’s a bittersweet reflection on freedom and reinvention, built on a bright rhythm and arpeggiated guitars that fuse energy and emotion. It tells the story of a man who lived intensely, with ‘Now is forever’ capturing its core message: living in the present as an act of defiance.”
