Twin Sisters CXC Continue Their Year-Long Release Streak with ‘Mine’

The story behind ‘Mine’ is surprisingly wholesome and meaningful. You see, CXC are not your average indie-pop duo. Made up of two talented Canadian twin sisters now residing in Los Angeles, the project sees them embarking on a mission to release a new record every two months, something they are taking rather seriously. Keeping each other accountable, CXC have been busy at work, penning a series of eclectic, evocative singles that speak volumes about the heightened musicianship and artistry enjoyed by the two creatives.

Following up from the dreamy, dance-tinged effort ‘Great Escape’, ‘Mine’ focuses on a more alternative approach, blending power-pop, psychedelia, dream-pop and everything in between. Wrapped in luscious, hazy production and nostalgic synthetisers, the piece provides fertile territories for CXC’s dynamic, elegant vocals, here delivering a tale of passion and attraction framed into an overall hypnotic, anthemic livery.

It’s almost cinematic, we’d say; it’s a great listening experience. As CXC explain: “My twin sister and I wrote and produced this song together as an ode to our journey of making music together. We have been making music together essentially our whole lives, but have made the commitment to release music every two months this year and have been holding each other to account.”
