Tritonic Get Ready for Wax-Dipped Cassette Album with ‘Oh, Sinai!’

Tritonic are a band with clear ideas. That’s true for their art, set on a decadent blend of slow-paced prog-rock matter and psychedelic, dooming guitar tones, and that’s true for their creative vision, as they prepare to release an album solely on a wax-dipped cassette, a stroke of genius that we haven’t quite heard anyone doing before. The album in question, ‘Bend the Arc!’, won’t be available on streaming services… but there are signs.

For example, ‘Oh, Sinai!’ is a compelling single you can find wherever you get your music from, a tasty appetiser that’s hypnotic, positively creepy and intense. Packed with noisy distortions, unconventional harmonies and quaint, precherous vocals, the track reveals itself as a cathartic, spiritual experience, a quality that well fits Tritonic’s overarching artistry. You see, ‘Bend the Arc!’ is considered a religious album, “written by atheists and agnostics. If the physical world is an aberration created by a possibly cruel, disinterested deity, where does that leave the human experience?”

It’s a truly meaningful and philosophical direction Tritonic are moving into. In all seriousness, the record won’t be for everyone, but the bold, observant and inquisitive listener might find a certain solace and emotional release from it. As the world becomes more and more chaotic, art adapts, and in this case, ‘Bend the Arc!’ feels like an appropriate response.
