It’s comeback time for Tree Trunks. The London-based electro-pop pair have graced the British capital’s underground scene since 2017, marking almost a decade of committed creative discovery. Of course, they did take a bunch of breaks here and there, yet Sam Lewis and Robert Hunter do not appear tired of music-making just yet. In fairness, they are pretty good at it. Last October, Tree Trunks returned with their first single since 2022, sparking a new thematic era that has taken them to their forthcoming album, ‘Hot Fruit’, expected this Friday (March 6th).
In particular, ‘Tiempo’ is the last single to make its way to us, a Latin pop-influenced cut with a keen reggaeton vibe. Delving deeper into the song, Lewis explains: “It was a patchwork of different thoughts and feelings I had at the time. About my love for my new son, lockdown, the complexity of my Jewish roots in the light of the war in Gaza (something I strongly oppose)”.
