When it comes to contemporary worship music, Thurane stands out as a leading figure in the scene. The American troubadour has slowly built a wholesome Christian brand that pays the highest homage to God, using fitting lyrical theming to uplift and inspire fellow believers. Now, we are not just referring to anthemic, evocative cuts with great cinematic allure. Thurane does, in fact, find joy in penning lighter, more laidback records, often drenched in funk influences and lively pop flair. ‘Big House’ was the perfect example of that, a track that Thurane released back in summer 2025, and the project’s latest release to date.
Yet, do not despair. Thurane is coming back sooner than one might think. ‘Lift Him Up’ is set for worldwide release on April 10th, a piece that sees the American creative further expanding his god-fearing musical catalogue. For anyone keen to hear the track right now, there’s a preview and a free download available here. The piece is consistent with what we have heard from Thurane so far, if ever, perhaps a tad more rock-leaning and euphoric. It’s also catchy and sunny, a great example of how worship music can be energetic when needed.
Part of the ‘Lift Him Up’ EP and the ‘Worship Servant’ forthcoming album, the new single announces a busy and productive year for Thurane, a year that will bring about lots of new music. Delving deeper into the record, he explains: “The juxtaposition of the acoustic guitar/mandolin sections offset by the straight rock band, including drums, bass, guitars & organ, lends itself to a more deeply spiritual worship experience.”
