Third Girl From The Left Returns with ‘Hollowed’

Playfully describing itself as “slightly unhinged art pop”, Devon-based transformative outfit Third Girl From The Left is often seen moving on the fringe, oscillating between eclectic alt-pop and wholesome rock-flavoured territories. We first discovered the project back in 2023, featuring ‘Dance’ and describing it as “a piece that firmly stands at the intersection of dance, indie and pop.” We stand by our words; The British creative doesn’t quite operate within a fixed genre-based framework, instead exploring a wealth of expansive artistic influences.

Marking Third Girl From The Left’s comeback single, ‘Hollowed’ ends a two-year hiatus by turning the project’s attention towards gloomier, new-wave and gothic-flavoured horizons, a choice that further enriches the English songstress’ vocal impact. Boasting a luscious and ethereal tone, TGFTL evokes a dystopian fever dream, one that shares its poisonous embrace with any keen listeners.

The team behind the record includes Rod Spark on Hammond organ and Ryan Halsey on drums. Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Hollowed’, Third Girl From The Left explains: “Sometimes life can make you feel like you’re fading into the background, that you just don’t recognise yourself anymore, but life is all about change and nothing stays the same forever. So this is all about taking back control, trying new things and embracing the shifting sands.”
