The Transits Get Ready for Summer With ‘Live Today’

We have shared history with New Zealand-based pop-punk outfit The Transits. The last time they featured on our pages was back in March, when we enthusiastically defined ‘Outsiders’ as an “all-out pop-punk anthem with a great deal of fiery, empowering lyricism”. We stand by our words: favouring carefree and uplifting character, the talented group has made it a point to pen meaningful records steeped in nostalgic early noughties flair.

‘Live Today’ confirms everything we have written so far, with a slick and striking punk livery wrapped in evocative melodies and nostalgic, relatable songwriting. It’s aptly titled, as ‘Live Today’ is one of those records you have got to take as they come, appreciating their honest and upfront vibe. The anthemic chorus is perfect for summer, revealing the song’s euphoric and legendary potential.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Live Today’, The Transits explain: “We wanted to write a song that feels like a deep breath and a sprint at the same time. ‘Live Today’ is about trusting the moment, even if it’s messy, even if it’s fast. Because sometimes that’s where the real living happens.” As always, The Transits go heavy on their music videos, this time around involving New Zealand comedian and actor Tom Sainsbury in the process.
