‘Feasting 2026 – HK Mix’ is a peculiar offering: connecting the past to the future, the record sees young producer Henry Kook reworking The Sway’s original piece ‘Feasting On My Friends’, which acted as a B-side to the group’s 1993 debut single ‘Silk’. To our delight, what was once a gritty indie rock cut is now an EDM, jungle-flavoured offering, boasting a production that still feels quite nostalgic and respectful to the original version, but also electrifying and fresh.
Active for the better part of three decades, The Sway used to be rather admired in the ’90s as a staple of the underground indie-rock scene. Their 2025 album ‘When Worlds Collide’ is the perfect evidence of that, a sign that David Casson, Jim Kook, Paul Hogan, and Sean Kelly still have a lot to say. Furthermore, they are not afraid of cross-genre influences, which is likely what gave Harry Kook such free rein on their material.
Commenting on the new remixes and their open-mindedness, The Sway explains: “Nearly 40 years on, The Sway are not averse to experimentation. We will always be a rock band at heart, but who doesn’t like a dance? We hope these reimagined songs will provide a door for new listeners to enter a room full of original material by The Sway.” There’s something particularly enticing about discovering old catalogues; we are confident people will relate to it and learn more about the talented band behind the new tracks.
