The Silence Industry Share Obscure Piece ‘The Crawling Eye’

There’s a lot to discover around The Silence Industry. Hailing from Vancouver, the creative Canadian outfit is known for its experimental flair; bathing in dark wave, goth and noise influences, the band manages to craft nostalgic, intense and gloomy gems seeking to connect with an alternative crowd, and endeavour that we are confident will be successful.

‘The Crawling Eye’ is The Silence Industry’s latest effort, an anthemic and melancholic jewel built on retro guitar stylings and new wave tropes; channelling their inner The Cure, the group writes a furious, trashy banger with a series of healthy hard-rock and metal influences (see the busy drum parts). Overall, the record is pretty lo-fi and grainy, with cryptic vocals drenched in reverb and fuzziness.

Speaking about the single, they explain: “It is an urgent and unsettling piece that combines themes of contemporary surveillance and a fondness for trashy B-grade horror films”. Heroes of the leftfield, The Silence Industry can often be found delving into darkness and creepiness; that’s what makes the project so interesting and hypnotising.
