The Shrubs Unveils Ethereal Album ‘Echoes of a Dream’

‘Echoes of a Dream’ reads like a statement of intent. Packed with ethereal energy and psych-rock stylings, the album provides a listening experience that’s eclectic and liquid, certainly hypnotising and evocative. Penned by Houston-based Texan outfit The Shrubs, the record introduces itself with the nostalgic and poignant ‘Maybe Tomorrow’, featuring veiled cinematic energy and classic string arrangements. Wow! Where will they go from here?

They jump straight into an Indian Sitar – yeah, really. The Shrubs showcase their global character, embracing their creativity on a holistic level. ‘Summer Sun’ reeks of 70s enlightenment and spirituality, certainly a fertile space for dreams… there’s a strong vintage quality here – very attractive.

Further on, gems such as ‘Can’t Last Forever’ feature a crunchy and fuzzy distortion layered under angelic vocal harmonies – what more could you want? The Shrubs can clearly do it all. We salute you, Laura, Miguel, Josh, and Sophie. We are grateful for your artistry.
