Spyderhuff Gear Up for Alt-Country EP with ‘Good Love’

We love how ‘Good Love’ introduces itself. First, an evocative, nostalgic guitar riff, then Spyderhuff’s smokey, full-bodied vocal tone gently shifting into an eclectic arrangement, a slice of country-flavoured rock matter with a Southern flair. Hailing from Detroit, the talented band has often been spotted in fierce rock territories, although lately such a characterisation has been infused with a heightened country element. ‘Good Love’ is the perfect evidence of that, here anticipating Spyderhuff’s upcoming EP ‘Barfly at the Barn Dance’.

All tracks included in the EP will be unveiled gradually throughout the year, as the group has done with all of their records so far. We appreciate Spyderhuff’s commitment to always remaining fresh and relevant, even reinventing themselves and finding new inspiration in neighbouring territories. We are miles away from 2023’s SIN7, for example. In ‘Good Love’, we find Tom Kuhr and company addressing their vulnerable, introspective and loving side, fully delving into a slower, airy and luscious aural livery.

Don Beyer, Joey Gaydos, Jim Pauli, and Tony Mitchell complete the band’s talented lineup. Speaking about their latest work, Spyderhuff jokingly explain: “For this EP we loaded up the family station wagon, headed down south, and dug up some country roots.” Standing as their sixth EP to date, the American group appears ready for a stunning year. Let’s make it count.
