Soundtrackk Debuts with Luscious, Brooding Cut ‘Whip’

‘Whip’ is one of the most vibe-coded records we have come across recently. Crepuscular, cinematic, and rather hypnotic R&B goodness.

We don’t know too much about Soundtrackk, a figure seemingly wrapped in mystery and sultry allure, but we do know a few things. He’s from Pittsburgh, US, and he boasts a keen talent for production and music-making. Championing an intriguing and modern R&B character steeped in evocative electronica and introspective vocals, the gifted sonic visionary has recently unveiled his debut effort, ‘Whip’, a crepuscular, vibe-coded piece that aims to subdue the listeners into a hypnotic state of mind, something that pairs well with the soundtrack nature of the record.

Self-describing his work as ‘cinematic, Soundtrackk is acutely aware of the territories he’s exploring. In fact, ‘Whip’ provides an immersive listening experience, a slice of haunting romance with an obsessive aftertaste. It’s the sort of artistic chiaroscuro where the American producer feels most at home, and it shows: the single is almost timeless in its external livery. Out today, ‘Whip’ marks the start of a powerful phase for Soundtrackk. Judging by what we have heard so far, the future is rather bright.

Driving deeper into his work, Soundtrackk explains: “My music lives in the space between healing and temptation – where connection feels dangerous, and silence says more than words.” We must note at this point how the project bathes in a certain abstraction; the Charlotte-born artist loves to frame his work into philosophical, ambiguous storytelling. That’s a game he’s playing perfectly.
