Solar Flare Alert Gear Up for Upcoming Album with ‘Molto Caldo’

Italo Disco and Funk provocateur Solar Flare Alert step into the warmer months with ‘Molto Caldo’, a euphoric, nostalgic banger.

Every time Solar Flare Alert release a new record, we find ourselves falling into an Italo Disco black hole. Cue the many hours spent listening to all of the classics, from Den Harrow to Sabrina Salerno, passing through Valerie Dore and Kano. It’s obvious that the Italian duo does bathe in a cocktail of like-minded influences, including a great deal of 80s-powered material. That said, considering Solar Flare Alert an italo disco act is certainly reductive (and perhaps anachronistic).

Let’s examine ‘Molto Caldo’, their latest offering. Following up from previous cut ‘The Way You Move’, the track contributes to the project’s upcoming album, expected in June via Katekatashe Records. In it, we find a more eclectic pool of references, with a slightly more contemporary and dance-inducing sound, still firmly placed in nostalgic territories. Blending disco with funk euphoria and a keen soulful allure, ‘Molto Caldo’ stands out as a nugget of positivity and carefree joy. As one might suspect, ‘Molto Caldo’ is Italian for ‘Very Hot’.

Behind the project, we find vocalist Eika Neri and producer Davide Ungaro, steering their cosmic musical spaceship with confidence and gusto. Besides the music, Solar Flare Alert have also been busy worldbuilding, with an accompanying original comic book set to portray an animated version of the two Italian creatives, to be released with their forthcoming LP.
