Slim Loris Returns After Long Hiatus with Scandicana Album

This is embarrassing, but we had no clue about ‘Scandicana’ being a thing. Illuminating us, it’s Slim Loris, the eclectic Stockholm outfit with a knack for rock and Americana influences. After a long hiatus, the group now returns with their fourth album to date, ‘Red Loris Yellow Loris’. In it, the listener will discover a flourishing example of Scandicana, defined as ‘the Swedish cousin of Americana’. Even after such a long break, Slim Loris remain sharp and focused, showcasing their abilities to still deliver poignant and reflective gems drenched in light rock arrangements.

The record is a testament to the creativity and resilience of the Swedish talents, who have managed to overcome personal setbacks to then return with a new sound and style. Formed by Mattias Cederstam, Robert Barrefelt, Leon Lindström and Jonas Ellenberg, the group is planning a comeback live tour for spring/summer 2023, yet to be announced.

‘Red Loris Yellow Loris’ is a delightful homage to everyone’s inner child, and a must-listen for fans of Scandicana. A 9-track effort, the album features Slim Loris’ nuanced and introspective songwriting, together with their soothing guitar work and inspiring melodies. ‘Red Loris Yellow Loris’ is an exceptional record, and we are glad to see the band back on the international music scene.
