Skar De Line Unleashes Brooding, Cinematic Piece ‘Inside’

Embracing his cinematic, evocative era, London-based talent Skar De Line has recently returned with another striking record, ‘Inside’. Packed with haunting, gloomy tones and atmospheric textures, the record captures the listener’s attention thanks to its hypnotising eclectic palette and roaring arrangement. Enriched by fretless guitars and sitar-influenced ambience, ‘Inside’ provides the perfect setting for an anthemic, liminal chorus, one that’s dominated by earth-shattering percussions and melancholic harmonies.

Overall, there’s a strong sense of urgency and intensity in the song. We suspect that’s partly due to the upfront, decadent aural energy, and partly due to the mysterious lyrical imagery surrounding the piece. Drawing inspiration from the mythological concept of Pandora’s Box, Skar De Line initiates a journey of reckoning within the darkest corners of his consciousness, in a wider effort to discover his true sense of self.

Aiding such brooding songwriting, we find yet again a slice of visual goodness. ‘Inside’ comes with a music video, written, directed and edited by Skar De Line himself. Set in an old farm and mill in rural Sweden, complex and nuanced visuals reinforce the idea of relentless self-discovery. As Skar De Line explains: “It dives deeper into the layers of his psyche, unravelling the mystery of who I am, and why.”
