In a world full of AI music, Sharpshooter Soundworks takes the high road, committing to organic music production and slowly refining his skills and sampling capabilities. ‘Breakin’ All The Rules (Massive)’ is the perfect example of that, a jungle-inspired electronic track that feels nostalgic and a tad soulful, but most of all authentic and human. The record doesn’t reinvent the wheel, instead offering listeners an energetic and electrifying slice of familiar musical goodness.
Known as Andrew Shabazz by day, Sharpshooter Soundworks exists as a multi-genre entity, not really limiting himself to anything in particular. Building over a decade-long journey in music, Shabazz particularly enjoys Fruity Loops and a simple yet functional studio setup. ‘Breakin’ All The Rules (Massive)’ feels full and layered regardless, with a 70s-esque sheen applied over its late 90s influences.
Delving deeper into his creative ethos and production workflow, Sharpshooter Soundworks explains: “No real story here, I just felt like writing a fun song. I wrote this in maybe an hour on a random weekend. This is me experimenting with new styles and production techniques. I really enjoy learning by doing when it comes to music, and this is one style I hadn’t previously tried!” We appreciate such a wholesome ethos, and we are confident listeners will do too.
