Sehseiyah Debuts with Striking Darkwave EP ‘620’

Jumping straight into euphoric gloominess, Sehseiyah enters the global music landscape with the most striking, fierce darkwave we have heard so far. Borrowing from the likes of Mareux as much as they do from Molchat Doma, the talented trans-Iranian creative seems to have found the perfect formula to enhance their hypnotising vocal tone. ‘Cross My Heart’ is the perfect example of that.

Taken from the project’s debut EP ‘620’, the track seems to oscillates between punchy, fast-paced darkwave and trance-flavoured synths, something that can also be found elsewhere in the record. ‘Paranoid’ features an acid-esque bassline, ‘Out of Body’ some massive digital, noisy sound design. ‘Raising Hell’ delves fully into the leftfield, perhaps exposing a more eclectic side of Sehseiyah. Overall, it’s a wonderful debut effort, one that we won’t forget anytime soon.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Cross My Heart, Sehseiyah explain: “It is about being so afraid that those you love could get hurt and at the same time, being afraid of vulnerability and your emotions getting hurt if you express yourself so you want to keep it and the people you love hidden away somewhere safe.”
