Sarah Maison Unveils Elegant, Dreamy Jewel ‘Exister’

There’s a reason if BBC6 Music included ‘Exister’ in their ‘French Fancy’ selection. Part fever dream, part pop euphoria, the record is a cathartic slice of goodness, oscillating between gentle psychedelia and timeless alt-pop flair. The listening experience is mellow and luscious, wrapping listeners into an otherworldly fictional universe, one where we can fully admire Sarah Maison’s malleable, evocative vocals. Drenched in spacious effects and delivered with elegance and charisma, Maison’s tone is rather hard to resist, making ‘Exister’ a standout cut.

Out now via Capitane Records, the single is taken from the French songstress’s upcoming album, ‘DIVAD’, expected on 19th September. Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Exister’, she explains: “Exister is an ode to nature and a reflection on the absurdity of existence under neoliberalism. We work more to earn more, we buy things we don’t need — endless demands that pull us away from our essence. Meanwhile, trees are allowed to just be. No one judges them when they’re bare in winter. They change, and we accept it. Why can’t we?”
