‘No Strings Attached’ is the arrival point of a creative process steeped in lyrical authenticity and world-class musicianship. It’s an album that feels personal and tender, yet also brooding and urgent. Mostly, it’s the direct result of Oslo Green’s boundless artistry, a globetrotting creative with a knack for production and relevant classical training. Known as a talented violinist, Green is seen embracing a rather dreamy and expansive aural character, an eclectic formula that draws from a wide pool of influences, then landing onto pop-leaning material with blissful allure and understated elegance.
‘GRAND’ gains lead single duties, a track that takes the album to a close. For us, it’s more like an introduction to the whole project. In it, listeners will be able to familiarise themselves with Oslo Green’s soulful alt-pop prowess, on this occasion walking the fine line between heartwarming imagery and melancholic songwriting. To note, Oslo is able to shift from singing to spoken words at a moment’s notice, a feature that highlights the malleable musicianship he has to offer.
Delving deeper into the ethos behind the album, Oslo Green explains: “‘No Strings Attached’ – a promise I clearly couldn’t keep – both in relationships but also when it comes to the amount of strings I recorded for this album. This album covers a few good years of travelling around the globe – following relationships, music and big dreams. Growing up as a classical violinist, I could never imagine that one day I would put together something like this. While listening you might notice many flavors and languages.”
