Nico Cann Returns with Roaring, Evocative Piece ‘Lose My Mind’

There’s a great deal of vintage euphoria in ‘Lose My Mind’. Taking us back to the guitar-powered side of the ‘80s, the track draws from a variety of influences, be it Bruce Springsteen’s bold, anthemic character or Bruce Hornsby’s meaningful lyricism. To us, it also reminds us of people like Bryan Adams, your average ’80s chart-topper with a knack for guitar solos. Behind such a potent piece, we find Nico Cann, London-based singer and songwriter with a long history of artistic glory behind him.

Active between Milan and London, Cann benefits from previous experiences with his band The Air Traffic, coupled with several features on prestigious media platforms, such as Rolling Stone UK and Billboard Italy. It’s easy to notice an upward trend, a clear path forward that will eventually take Nico in front of bigger audiences and on bigger stages. For now, though, let’s enjoy ‘Lose My Mind’. There’s a charming dualism in it, mainly built between the dreamy, melancholic lyricism and the uplifting, fierce production, here delivered by longtime collaborator Thomas Mitchener.

Delving deeper into the single, Nico Cann explains: “At its heart, the song reflects on the memory of a childhood love: a time of innocence, instinct, and unfiltered emotion before the weight of adult life set in. It’s about longing for a past that never truly existed, a time that never was.” Such a striking message is then supercharged by Cann’s malleable, resonant vocals, crowning the track with heightened confidence.
