Mount Mural Unleash Hypnotising Fever Dream ‘Pattern Fades’

It happened again; we got lost in another shoegaze record. To be fair, this time we are widely justified: ‘Pattern Fades’ is incredibly hazy and spacious, wrapping listeners into a blissful and evocative aural landscape made up of limitless guitar tones and ghostly vocals. It’s all fertile territory for introspection, so much so that we felt instantly hypnotised, and went for a nostalgic tangent through old memories (and perhaps some regrets).

Our personal experience aside, ‘Pattern Fades’ emerges from the creative minds of Canadian dreamers Mount Mural. Based in Toronto, the talented group charmingly describes themselves as “Juxtaposed beauty and darkness”, something that we certainly stand behind. Mount Mural are Clayton McMillan, Kyle Gottschalk, Jason Brum, Evan Smith. Thank you for your service, folks. You are making reality a touch more bearable.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Pattern Fades’, Mount Mural explain: “Quiet and loud, we really focused on painting a mental picture with this one. Cinematic, melancholy, and emotional, it’ll be sure to give you shivers down your spine. Close your eyes.”
