MÖM Shares Electrifying Banger ‘Sound Of The Underground’

German sonic explorer MÖM enjoys building an aural emotional cushion… massive electronic vibes adventuring into alternative and underground electronica.

We started our journey into MÖM’s visionary artistic universe by watching their hybrid set on YouTube, a high-octane, hypnotic DJ set dubbed ‘Stellar Frequency Session 001’. The space travel theme works very well in this context, as the project’s latest release, ‘Sound Of The Underground’, timely reminds us. You see, the Germany-based producer and sonic explorer enjoys building an aural emotional cushion; massive electronic vibes that refrain from entering mainstream EDM territories.

Instead, MÖM finds refuge in alternative and underground territories, developing a kinetic digital matrix that feels incredibly contemporary, but also rather timeless. It’s a dance-inducing formula drenched in a myriad of influences, be it classic Daft Punk-esque melodism, rave grittiness, and house lusciousness. Previously supported by the likes of AZEmag, YourEDM, and Techno Music, MÖM also won ‘Best Original Song’ at the International Music Video Awards and ‘Best Dance Music Video’ at the Europe Music Video Awards for his previous single ‘Circles’.

When it comes to the artistic philosophy that propels the entire project, MÖM knows what it stands for perfectly well. As we are told: “The track is aimed at listeners and playlists focused on high-energy electronic music, late-night driving grooves, underground club culture and workout intensity rather than polished mainstream EDM.” It’s a mood-based release, as is the whole project. It’s evocative and plastic; it’s a record meant to soundtrack an electrifying moment.
