Minomo Debut with Meditative Piece ‘Bountiful Sea’

A highly introspective and cathartic piece, ‘Bountiful Sea’ is the kind of record one has to experience first-hand. It’s a state of mind, really. Moving slowly and with purpose, the track feels meditative and soothing, ethereal and feverish. Embracing a dreamy folk livery, the piece carries the eclectic character of Belgian group Minomo, here debuting with an exquisite slice of gentle goodness.

Recorded at Cucurucu Studio in Ghent, Belgium, ‘Bountiful Sea’ provides a striking introduction to Minomo. A talented quartet, the project flourishes on hazy, evocative vocals, elegant fiddles, and a drone-like soundscape that appears to lull the listeners into a spiritual sleep. It’s a reflective effort, one that will certainly resonate with a wide audience out there. Packed with nostalgia and veiled melancholia, ‘Bountiful Sea’ deserves to be appreciated in silence and without rush.

Originally written by songstress Marieke De Keukelaere in 2021, the single benefits from a heightened lineup featuring Violinist Sara Vlerick, bassist Carlo Thompson, and percussionist Frankli Caldeira. The record’s strongest quality lies in its healing, meditative energy, as Minomo eloquently explains: “It finds its strength in stillness and subtlety”.
