It’s been a rather productive year for Mercy Kelly, today crowning their third release of 2025, ‘Breathe For Her’. Hailing from Greater Manchester (Oldham, to be precise), the talented group has been active for the past few years, slowly unveiling nuggets of catchy indie extravaganza and relatable lyrical imagery. Following up on previous effort ‘Speak Too Soon’, ‘Breathe For Her’ stays true to Mercy Kelly’s anthemic ethos, sporting an electrifying, melodic sound that’s made for exuberant stadium crowds and daytime radio.
Recorded at Kempston Street Studios (formerly known as the legendary Parr Street Studios) by producer Alex Quinn, the single feels a tad more uplifting and roaring than its predecessor. Orienting themselves towards a more mainstream indie formula, the British group struck sonic gold, packing a great deal of guitar-powered motifs and malleable, friendly vocals that are a joy to listen to. Frontman Jack Marland and lead guitarist Adam Bridge are the talented songwriters behind ‘Breathe for Her’.
Delving deeper into the single, the group explains: “The song dives deep into love and loss, sparking a strong statement and a defining moment in our journey, as we look forward to stepping onto bigger stages”. Obviously, Mercy Kelly have a rather clear idea about their goals and future. We reckon it’s just a matter of time before they gain national attention. Stay tuned.
