May Roze Returns with Cathartic, Velvety New Single

Entering May Roze’s artistic universe is like stepping into a velvety, luscious room, one filled with fierce messaging and cathartic melodies. In fact, the London-based songstress has long championed an eclectic, boundary-pushing sound; ‘KABSAI (Karma’s A Bitch, So Am I)’ is the strongest evidence of that. Roze’s latest effort, the record also marks May’s return onto the global pop scene, following up from 2022’s ‘Feels Like Spring’. Calling her project ‘pop’ might be a tad reductive, as there’s a healthy amount of R&B and transformative electronica in it.

A keen songwriter and producer, Roze seems to have finally found a comfortable place in the music industry. Celebrated by the likes of Vents magazine, Notion, and A&R Factory – among others – the Swiss-raised singer has grown and evolved a lot in the past few years, now standing tall above her three-dimensional, striking music with a well-deserved sense of accomplishment. We fully support her endeavour: ‘KABSAI (Karma’s A Bitch, So Am I)’ feels intense, haunting and fearless, with Roze’s hard-hitting vocals wonderfully complementing the inspired messaging behind it.

As May Roze explains: “A song to call back a feeling of empowerment. When things go wrong, believe that life always has your back… Karma will do its thing, so don’t hold on to it.” A worthy music discovery, one we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
