Despite our latest feature on MARQelectronica dating back to 2023, the Newcastle-based producer and songwriter has actually been rather productive in the past couple of years, at least until October 2025, when his ‘Hot Heads and Cool Mind’ EP saw the light of day. The project has then been quiet… until today, that is. ‘Be There’ marks MARQelectronica’s comeback single, a triumphant, club-oriented record that’s as sonically hard-hitting as it is lyrically expressive.
While the project is certainly known for its dance-filled catalogue, ‘Be There’ represents a powerful step up in terms of brooding intensity and nostalgic flavourings. Paying tribute to the warm, catchy vocals of Freemasons and Hed Kandi, among others, the new record traces a melodic and melancholic electronic journey, one that features classic house piano tones and luscious, uplifting production.
Delving deeper into the creative and personal ethos that propels the record, MARQelectronica explains: “Lyrically, it is about needing reassurance, but musically it is about making you dance and enjoy yourself. This is my first release in almost a year. I have felt a little like I’m pushing treacle uphill trying to get traction in the music industry, but part of that is my own social anxiety and how busy and commitment-filled my personal life is. Also, financial constraints.” It’s clear that making music holds a lot of meaning for the British musician; his material is authentic and heartfelt.
