Marie Minet Returns with Summer-Driven Jewel ‘Prête à Tout (Summer Radio Edit)’

The keen reader might remember French chanteuse Marie Minet. Writing about ‘Je serais tout ce que tu veux (High Life Edition)’ back in April, we felt quite hypnotised by her soothing, elegant vocals and evocative allure, particularly flourishing over acoustic arrangements and simple, relatable lyricism. Such a potent formula is now scrambled in favour of more uplifting summer vibes.

Leaving behind her usual intimate flair, Marie re-discovers an old track, ‘Prête à Tout’, giving it an exotic, dance-inducing character that’s perfect for a rooftop party or a sun-drenched chill-out session. Teaming up with Ghanaian producer TwoBars and French producer SDO, Minet transforms what was once a delicate slice of musical gold into a rich and euphoric cut. Yet, the record still carries the French songstress’s relentless elegance, something that seems to be a foundational element of her artistry.

From a sonic standpoint, ‘Prête à Tout (Summer Radio Edit)’ benefits from Afro-fusion and West African influences, potentially making the track appeal to a wider audience. Marie’s lyricism is incredibly detailed and meaningful, and even if you happen not to speak French, you’ll appreciate the record’s overall gentleness and charming livery.
