Maria Deirisarri Shares Stunning Folk Gem ‘Letting It Go’

A soothing, gentle acoustic piece, ‘Letting It Go’ is first and foremost hyper meaningful and inspiring, touching a subject that’s rather challenging and painful for most people. Embracing the art of ‘letting go’, American songstress Maria Deirisarri seeks to leave the past behind, moving on from negative experiences and intricate emotional pain. She does so with her music, using personal expression and songwriting as a cathartic tool, a way to process emotions.

It works: built on buoyant tones and heartwarming vocals, ‘Letting It Go’ feels like a warm embrace, a hopeful, positive starting point for a better future. Accepting the intricacies of the human condition – and the anger, the frustration that comes with it – Deirisarri aims to move past old obstacles and disillusionment, connecting with her inner self and reclaiming her independence.

Produced by Corey Kilgannon and Jacob Hudson, ‘Letting It Go’ is stunning from a sonic standpoint too, with a majestic folk character that’s a joy to listen to. Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Maria explains: “I was tired of being walked over and carrying so much resentment. But I needed to let it go before it buried me. Instead of making this a song about anger and hate, I wanted to write about forgiveness and healing.”
