Magic and the Dream Hotel Debuts with Psychedelic Piece ‘Room #7’

The keen reader will know how much we appreciate unique, quirky creatives here at Mesmerized. Despite the current music landscape being heavily oriented towards pursuing trends and proven formulas, there’s a whole battery of bold, unapologetic sonic voyagers seeking to push boundaries and simply innovate, exploring the unbeaten path and blending diverse influences together. Magic and the Dream Hotel is the perfect example of that.

Guided by Manchester-based musician and producer Jamie Platt, the project sets out as an instrumental outfit encompassing psychedelia, cinematic tones, and a certain vintage affinity, eventually unveiling a cathartic, luscious and sultry concoction of sounds that’s fresh and enticing. ‘Room #7’ is Magic and the Dream Hotel’s latest effort, an imaginative and elegant nugget that’s as hypnotizing as it is kaleidoscopic.

Next to its musical value, the single also anticipates a larger record, devising a system of quirky rooms in a fictional hotel, each one with a precise character and a sharp out-of-the-box thinking. As Platt explains: “This project is all about exploration. Each song represents a different room, and the aim is to feature as many guests as possible, while always keeping things fresh and exciting for myself as an artist. Who knows what’ll be next?”
