Lynn Dossenbach Shares Eclectic Debut EP ‘COMBINATION’

Having refined her musical skills at the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Lynn Dossenbach unveils today her debut EP, ‘COMBINATION’, a bilingual journey into her eclectic artistry.

The culmination of a year of constant releases, ‘COMBINATION’ collects past singles and brand new offerings into a cohesive, eclectic package, one that showcases the keen artistry enjoyed by Liverpool-based, Swiss-born songstress Lynn Dossenbach. Featuring five musical episodes, the EP does not seek to replicate trends or proven formulas, instead embarking on an aural journey that’s very authentic to Dossernbach herself. As such, ‘COMBINATION’ is delivered in both English and German, with its stylistic aims shifting from introspective, folk-pop offerings to fuzzier pop-rock cuts and country-leaning bops.

‘Pressure On My Chest’ is possibly our favourite track on the record. Boasting a moody, heartfelt ethos, it completely aligns with our melancholic and introspective character. This is Lynn at her most vulnerable, unfolding a lyrical journey that’s evocative and honest. Elsewhere, ‘Anzeichen’ is sung in German, with a stomp-esque, bouncy groove that makes it irresistible. ‘Hopes & Dreams’ fully delves into country and Americana tropes, with fiddles and banjos at its forefront. ‘The Toxic One’ and title track ‘Combination’ embark on a more conventional, guitar-coded pop direction.

As we are told: “The songs delve into unrequited & confusing feelings, self-reflection and the aspirations of moving to a new country to pursue dreams of becoming a professional singer-songwriter”. We’d be surprised if Dossenbach does not reach her stated goals. Furthermore, we’d consider the EP already a triumph; a lot of folks out there dream of making music and recording an EP or album. To make it happen in the first place, and to make it sound so good… that’s a win in our books!
