LX8 Continues His World-Building Efforts in ‘Ghosts of Sound (Afro House Club Mix)’

We had a peek into LX8’s creative universe back in 2024, celebrating past single ‘Quantum Blue’ as a “dreamy and hypnotising EDM anthem”. We stand by our words; the London-based artist has certainly acquired a knack for evocative, dance-flavoured records, often steeped in an expansive and hypnotic trance character. That was certainly the case for ‘Ghosts of Sound’, originally released in 2022. The track is now taken up by LX8 again, and it is given a luscious, sultry afro-house remix.

Unveiled just last week, ‘Ghosts of Sound (Afro House Club Mix)’ does a great job of capturing our attention. Swapping high-octane tones and fast-paced BPM for mellower elements and a highly contemporary flair, the record embraces the entire vision and concept behind the LX8 project. You see, this is not just a musical endeavour. Guided by musician and writer Henry Chebaane, everything you hear here is deeply woven into the lore of the graphic novel series ‘The Panharmonion Chronicles’

In fact, ‘Ghosts of Sound’ is also the title of an upcoming novel series, expected later this year via Supanova Media. Delving deeper into the story behind his fantasy world, Chebaane explains: “‘The Panharmonion Chronicles’ narrate the story of Alex Campbell, a multi-cultural female music composer who struggles with a conflicted identity, a traumatic past and repressed supernatural abilities while fighting a violent supremacist cult through time.”
