L’ESPIRAL Share Remix EP for ‘Cassiopeia’

We were writing about Los Angeles duo L’ESPIRAL back in May, celebrating ‘If I Were A Little Star’ as a “playful, dreamy ballad”. It was clear back then that the ethos behind the project is rather hazy and hypnotising, with expansive and elegant tones standing next to cathartic vocals and imaginative lyricism. Well, it turns out, the creative pair also knows how to have fun and embrace summer. Taking a short pause from their usual programming, the American duo has unveiled a new remix EP.

Sharing original effort ‘Cassiopeia’ with producers Nuovo Testamento and Angelfire, L’ESPIRAL take their music into summery, party-driven territories, something that might earn them new fans and a larger audience. Built on soulful and polite house influences, the Nuovo Testamento version is chill-out and friendly, with Angelfire instead embracing a high-octane, fast-paced trance livery. Zoë Bleu’s wonderful vocals are always present, giving both versions an anthemic, otherworldly character.

‘Cassiopeia’ is taken from L’ESPIRAL’s upcoming album ‘SQUAWK! Cried love’, expected on October 24th. Overall, the new remix EP provides a fun respite from the band’s mysterious tones, yet it also makes us even more loyal to them, as we patiently await more music after the summer. Good things are coming.
