Part haunting and part feverish, L’ESPIRAL’s unique and wholesome sonic character has already begun to turn heads across the world. Moving with purpose and introspective flair, the US-based duo navigates wholesome and eclectic territories, blending folk-flavoured, alt-pop elements with leftfield soundscapes and a certain sense of whimsy – all in favour of heartshaking, striking material, music that’s nourishment for the soul.
‘If I Were A Little Star’ is L’ESPIRAL’s latest effort, a playful, dreamy ballad inspired by the classic children’s song. Yet, this is a grown-up version of it, with Zoë Bleu and Reggie Debris infusing the subject matter with newly-found sultriness and understated elegance. The single anticipates the Los Angeles-based pair’s upcoming album, ‘“SQUAWK!” cried love’, expected on October 24th. Furthermore, L’ESPIRAL are visiting London for their first-ever show on British soil on June 11th, at the Shacklewell Arms.
Speaking about the single, the creative duo explains: “The song captures the moment in a budding love affair when one must expose themselves fully to their partner and ask, will I be cherished or cast aside, worshipped or worn down? The volatile little star flickers between tenderness and fear—in a space where a gentle caress can burn, and vulnerability glows warmly just before it combusts.”
