Leo Waters Unleashes Lush R&B Goodness in ‘Torrential’ EP

Fiercely on his way towards global domination, R&B powerhouse Leo Waters has recently unveiled a wonderfully nuanced EP, ‘Torrential’, a record that speaks volumes about the Floridian’s heightened lyrical expertise and futuristic character. You see, this is not your typical R&B offering. Drawing from mainstream pop influences as much as it does from understated hyper-pop flavourings, ‘Torrential’ delivers an aural world that’s lush, evocative and rather sultry, a slice of pure, unfiltered world-building that’s bound to connect with a wide audience out there.

Feeling both familiar and forward-thinking, the record benefits from Waters’ malleable, cathartic vocals, guiding the listening experience with unmistakable charm and playful flair. There are a great deal of hip-hop influences in it, reiterating the EP’s eclectic nature. Episodes such as ‘Private Prada Girl’ are bouncy and uplifting, a quality that’s well balanced by sultry efforts such as ‘Love Story’ and ‘4 Us’, among others. ‘Marni Problems’ is on focus track duties, an anthemic, intense cut with a very interesting production behind it.

Leo’s vocals are one of the project’s standout qualities, with an adaptive, melodic tone that’s a joy to listen to. ‘Torrential’ is also the second instalment of an overarching trilogy of EPs. Judging by what we heard so far and by the frankly outstanding numbers around Waters’ social media and streaming profiles, it won’t be long before he rises to global recognition. In the meantime, we’ll enjoy being ahead of the curve by listening to ‘Torrential’ on repeat.
