Least We Got Shoes Return with Brand New Album ‘Chapter Two’

Least We Got Shoes unveil their second album to date, ‘Chapter Two’, a record that moves into more eclectic territories, yet it always maintains the group’s fuzzy punch and nostalgic allure.

Least We Got Shoes are rather adamant about their uniquely placed rock ethos. Describing themselves as ‘boxcar rock’, the Bradford-based outfit champions a sonic character that’s partly nostalgic and rooted in the American rock tradition, but also rather modern and relatable. ‘Chapter Two’ is the perfect evidence of that. Marking Least We Got Shoes’ latest album, the record oscillates between bold, uplifting cuts and darker, more reflective gems. From our perspective, we are pretty drawn to ‘Water’, a slow-burning, intense cut that develops with a certain melancholy and gloomy urgency.

Elsewhere, the mood is decisively positive, with a kinetic, gritty offering like ‘Monster’ showcasing the British band’s unrepentant energy. ‘Cinderella’ offers a great deal of galloping drums, then exploding into a hard-hitting, all-out punk-leaning anthem. ‘Lazy Days’ embraces the group’s funk and soulful ethos, a rare example of Least We Got Shoes in cleaner, more eclectic territories. It’s here that we can fully reckon with the English band’s high-level musicianship. Hidden behind a wealth of distorted guitar tones, there’s a ton of talent.

Formed by Wayne on Vocals, Ben (DB) on Guitar, Blake Fox on Bass, and Kurt on Drums, Least We Got Shoes have certainly impressed us with ‘Chapter Two’. We are not the only ones taking note of them, with national media coverage getting busier and busier around the project. The group will be touring throughout 20206.
