We are rather familiar with LateNightBeatFeast. Featuring ‘Variance’ in September 2024, we proudly declared it as “moving among leftfield tones, long soundscapes and noisy textures”. It’s almost a signature move for the Cambridge-based producer. Hailing from the UK, the talented creative enjoys diverse and imaginative artistry, blending boundary-pushing electronica with vaporwave and chillout influences. The final result is a highly peculiar aural stream, a stream that’s ever more impressive in ‘Transmission Seven’, LateNightBeatFeast’s latest effort.
Out today, the record sees the British sonic wizard engage in a mellower brand of electronica. Oscillating between vaporwave and DnB, dance-oriented sound design, LateNightBeatFeast crafts a record that’s almost bittersweet, going from striking intensity to soothing roundness at a moment’s notice. The contrast between ‘Moondust’ and ‘Project Nucleus’ is the perfect example of that, with the former’s spacious, expansive tone contrasting with the latter’s Jungle feel.
On that note, LateNightBeatFeast seems to truly agree, suggesting ‘Determinism’ as a more appropriate counterpoint to ‘Moondust’. It works, as he eloquently explains: “They reflect the opposing ends of the range of genres and influences, from Found Sound to samples and synths.” ‘Transmission Seven’ comes with three music videos, reflecting a three-part storyline that charges the record with a certain sci-fi character.
