L.A. Riser Esthy Returns with Emo-Pop Jewel ‘don’t care anymore’

You might remember Esthy from a feature we did not many moons ago. ‘play pretend’ had just been released, stealing our hearts thanks to honest lyricism and heartfelt melodies. Intrigued by the project, we declared “Eshty has been championing a personal, heartfelt brand of modern pop, often oscillating between acoustic ballads and groovier, punchier hits.”

With such a glowing review, you can then understand how excited we were to hear the L.A. talent’s latest effort. A collaboration with fellow creative Bubbly, ‘don’t care anymore’ doubles down on a formula that’s clearly working very well for Eshty. Maintaining an acoustic outlook, the record makes its way with a crunchy guitar and poignant vocals, showcasing once again how simplicity can be a winning choice.

Lyrically, the track explores the feeling of giving up on someone, making a conscious choice over past pieces of evidence. The stellar songwriting makes the whole track a reality, with Esthy and Bubbly sharing painful yet necessary lyrics, guiding the listener into a journey through human relationships and the need of overcoming. The pair’s vocals work extremely well with each other, creating a nice effect in the unison sections.

If you needed a reason to listen to Esthy, this is it. A proud member of  L.A.’s neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ community, the American singer looks projected towards a stellar career. It’s also just really good music. We mean it.
