Kärma Sounds Returns with Playful Gem ‘Cake and Eat It’

We recently wrote about Canadian songstress Kärma Sounds, praising her single ‘Getting Better’ as “a song that matters, both musically and lyrically”. We stand by our words; it’s rather difficult not to be enchanted by the modern and evocative style the project has to offer. Floating between R&B and electronic pop, Kärma Sounds manages to appear light and soft, while offering hard-hitting songwriting and meaningful artistry.

‘Cake and Eat It’ is its latest offering, a refreshing slice of playful and enchanting soul and R&B goo. In it, the Canadian talent embarks on a decisively more luscious and fierce journey, showcasing her versatility and ‘slay’ factor. Built on a groovy and minimal arrangement penned by Chin Injeti, the song receives the final blessing from Kärma Sounds’s soulful, majestic vocals, wonderfully taking the listener to heavenly territories – with grace and elegance.

Released on Valentine’s Day, ‘Cake and Eat It’ aims to “a tune that dives into the quirks of modern life. It’s all about chasing perfection while poking fun at the crazy world of social media personas”. We are on board – are you?
