Jeffrey Chan Returns with Flirtatious Anthem ‘Looking’

We have been following Jeffrey Chan’s artistic journey for a while now, and it’s always exciting to witness the Australian talent slowly blooming into a global phenomenon. Now based in Los Angeles, Chan appears to be pushing forward thanks to the passionate community he created around the project, an audience fiercely steeped in LGBTQ+ and Queer values. ‘Looking’ is Jeffrey’s latest effort, the last in a series of euphoric, club-ready pop anthems with a relatable outlook.

Transforming the community pillar phrase ‘Are you looking?’ into an irresistible hook, the Aussie creative embark on a sultry exploration of queer hook-up culture, aided by the sharp and rowdy production of Australian DJ and producer Alex Lirosi. Thanks to Lirosi’s high-octane EDM and dark techno flair, the pair gives birth to a record that doesn’t feel overly mainstream, still packing a certain underground and leftfield obscurity. It’s the perfect match for dimly-lit club nights and heavy dancing.

Reiterating the inspiration behind the song, Chan explains: “It’s unapologetically horny and honest. This is our culture, our joy, our chaos — I wanted to make something that felt like all of that… but still hits hard in a club.” His earthy, dynamic and potent vocal tone crowns the single perfectly, delivering a flirtatious and frisky lyrical nugget steeped in empowering aural energy.
