INUURO Unleash Their Cinematic Energy in ‘Waves’

A triumph: incredibly expansive and hazy, ‘Waves’ unveils a precious listening experience, one drenched in INUURO’s appreciation for their country’s natural landscape. Hailing from Norway, Alexander, Ludvig and Oskar founded the project over twelve years ago; mainly instrumental, the group flourishes on chillgaze, post-rock and cinematic influences, eventually settling on a unique style that’s rather dreamy and feverish, and certainly evocative.

‘Waves’ is the perfect evidence of that. Doing exactly what it says on the tin, the track provides a soinc counterpoint to the magic of sea waves, a feature that’s egregiously showcased in the accompanying music video. The single is quite approachable and relatable, and despite its heightened emotional charge, we believe there would be room for further experimentation – INUURO have already declared their love for ambient and field recordings, after all.

Delving deeper into the inspiration behind the record, the band explains: “We always want to create soundscapes that represent some of the beautiful scenery we have here in the west of  Norway. This song represents how we feel when we think of fjords, mountains, and the deep sea. We envision how the sun and sky collide, releasing an orange hue over the Norwegian landscapes.”
