As debut singles go, ‘Thinking Of You’ is a decisively impressive offering. Built on a striking indie-rock outlook, the track feels vibrant, uplifting and relatable, yet steeped in wholesome, vintage energy. The chorus is particularly euphoric, with rolling drums and sharp guitar tones welcoming the listeners into Harry Eley’s fierce musical universe. The young British creative particularly shines through thanks to the single’s anthemic, fierce quality, packed with relatable lyricism and lush vocals.
Hailing from Guilford, Eley seems destined for great things. Judging by what we hear in ‘Thinking Of You’ – a well-produced effort – Harry is fully in his element, and won’t be long till he’s given a chance to conquer bigger stages nationwide. Crucially, he’s going on a minitour later this year, visiting Liverpool, Newcastle and Guildford.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Eley explains: “‘Thinking of You’ is a song about young adults filled with raging hormones exploring their sexuality in an age where thoughts and feelings are policed by technology and society.” Such striking lyricism perfectly mirrors the track’s hard-hitting aural identity, resulting in a cohesive, intense piece that’s a joy to listen to.
