Goldie Scott Unveils Nostalgic, Elegant Tune ‘Die To Lose You’

Often characterised as a retro-pop artist, Goldie Scott has simply embraced aural nostalgia, framing it all into an alluring musical package that’s ironically modern. ‘Die To Lose You’ is the perfect evidence of that. Echoing Amy Winehouse’s malleable vocals together with a strikingly soulful, bluesy pop outlook, the song showcases the fierce and melancholic artistic flair enjoyed by the American songstress, a stream of evocative melodies and charming grooves that’s a joy to listen to.

It’s all quite electrifying, yet also elegant and luscious. That’s part of Goldie Scott’s dualism – penning hypnotising, instrumentally-rich offerings with timeless class. Kickstarting a new creative era, ‘Die To Lose You’ benefits from co-writer Holden Glazier, returning to the project after successful past experiences. An EP is in the works, and judging by what we just heard in the current single, there’s a lot of good material lined up.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Scott explains: “It’s about the rush of it all — that feeling when you fall fast and fully, even if part of you knows it might not last. It’s sexy, it’s fun, and it lives in that dream state before reality sets in. That moment where you just go for it.”

A music video is also in the works, “inspired by my time spent in Joshua Tree, where the quiet vastness of the desert helped me shape a new creative direction”.
