Following up on previous effort ‘My Lady’, Tennessee-based creative Gemïny returns with his latest single ‘Spin This Right’, a cohesive and evocative R&B/pop offering with a great deal of personal lyricism and introspection in it. You see, the piece delves deeper into Gemïny’s own experience with attraction and heartbreak, as he uncovers the darkest corner of his own consciousness. It’s a rather striking and melancholic cut, one that sees the American songwriting reckoning with mechanisms of self-sabotaging and emotional catharsis.
‘Spin This Right’ is taken from Gemïny’s upcoming album ‘Victoria’s Secret’, expected in spring 2026. We can only imagine that the LP will be quite similar to what we have heard so far, with hypnotic and reflective material on top of dreamy and melodic aural goodness. Likened to Usher, The Weeknd, and Bruno Mars, among others, the talented creative appears to get better release after each release.
Delving deeper into the record, Gemïny explains: “It was definitely a disorienting exercise: trying to fit two vastly different love stories, from completely different eras of my life, into one bright love song. But looking at it now, the distortion accentuates the grotesque perversion of perspective that’s shared between ‘My Lady’ and ‘Spin This Right.’ In hindsight, it’s a little unsettling, but it’s raw and exactly what the album needed.”
