FICHE Debuts with Nostalgic, Brooding Gem ‘It’s Over’

Drawing from his extensive experience, FICHE has produced a nostalgic alt-pop cut, an 80s-leaning piece that’s both dreamy and melancholic. Discover ‘It’s Over’.

As we dived into ‘It’s Over’, we were instantly impressed by the record’s emotional lyricism and bright, high-level production. It’s clear that FICHE knows exactly what he’s doing, a mystery that becomes clear as soon as we take a deeper look at the talented human behind the project. Hailing from Vienna, FICHE is the musical alter-ego of Max Zauner, drummer, producer and mixing engineer with an established presence in the Austrian music scene.

Drawing from his extensive experience, Zauner produced a nostalgic alt-pop cut, an 80s-leaning piece that’s both dreamy and melancholic. We particularly love the many arpeggios that populate the piece, a retro character that feels surprisingly modern. As they say, everything comes back at some point! ‘It’s Over’ is FICHE’s debut single, stay tuned for the project’s next chapter, a remix of fencah’s ‘No Melancholy, Goodbye’ feat. Ivery, expected on June 19.

As one would expect from such a potent alt-pop offering, ‘It’s Over’ ships with a heightened evocative quality, one that’s fully reflected in Zauner’s meaningful lyricism. As we are told: “It’s a song about overcrowded needs and longing; about feeling too much, wanting too much, and eventually realising something no longer fits.” We love the cinematic and main-character-energy sheen wrapped around the record, effectively making it a personal soundtrack for any keen listener out there.
