Eyal Erlich Shares Wholesome Indie-Rock Cut ‘Sentimental Magic Cape’

The keen reader might remember Israeli musician Eyal Erlich from a feature we published earlier this year, praising ‘All in All’ as “showcasing Eyal’s heightening musicianship and artistic sensibility, with a long intro that sets a nocturne, intense and understated vibe”. We stand by our words; championing a diverse and eclectic indie-rock character, the talented creative appears to value honest, heartfelt songwriting and tender distortions, a fitting aural landscape for Erlich’s malleable, charismatic vocals.

‘Sentimental Magic Cape’ is the single that captures our attention once again, a lively and uplifting piece steeped in nostalgic punk energy and catchy melodies. Echoing the likes of Elvis Costello and The Clash, among others, the record seeks to pay homage to some of Erlich’s early influences, while maintaining a cohesive and relatable identity with the project’s wider catalogue. Set to be included in Eyal Erlich’s upcoming album, the live version of ‘Sentimental Magic Cape’ that’s out now was recorded at the iconic Levontin venue in Tel Aviv.

Delving deeper into the record, Erlich explains: “It’s a whimsical yet introspective track that blends raw rock textures with reflective lyrics. It explores vulnerability and moving past it, with a wink of humour wrapped in a lush, guitar-driven sound.”
