Emerging from the civilized urban chaos of Chicago, Eve Casino is an up-and-coming rock outfit that just released their 8-track LP, ‘Here’s The Thing’. There’s something for everyone in it: from classic 70’s flavoured rock bangers to punk and post-punk action. What matters, is the way the group blend everything together, highlighting their skilled guitar playing next to relatable and melodious vocals. It is this contrast between their rocky attitude and the mellow lyrical content that greatly characterizes them, making them appetising to a wider audience.
Formed by Ryan “Haggy” Hegarty (bass/vocals), Marco Obaya (lead guitar/vocals), Sam Skilnik (rhythm guitar/keys/vocals), and Chris Taylor (drums/percussion), Eve Casino released the album independently on their own label, Bird Theory Records. With two members having employment at multi-platinum & diamond-producing recording studio Enviyon Studios, they were able to create the entire album in-house from start to finish.
Overall, ‘Here’s The Thing’ is the product of pure, unfiltered passion, honest songwriting and musical prowess, celebrating the band’s eclectic range of influences. Listening to it, it’s easy to find confidence in their future. If someone is meant to shine bright, it is probably them.
