Eva Pagán Embraces Her Puerto Rican Roots with ‘In The Mirror’

On her way to global recognition, Eva Pagán (formerly known as Eva Westphal) appears ready for the next chapter of her glorious, euphoric career. Openly embracing her Puerto Rican roots, the New York-based songstress returns with a formidable pop effort, ‘In The Mirror’. Truly eclectic and forward-thinking, the record oscillates between Latin rhythms and hyper-pop elements, creating a blend of nostalgia and futurism that’s hard to resist. Pagán’s heavily processed vocals still manage to retain their signature warm and expressive character.

A prominent member of the LGBTQ+ artistic universe, Eva is unapologetically blooming into a worldwide phenomenon – her social following and audience size certainly don’t lie. In that sense, ‘In The Mirror’ provides a definite step-up for the project, allowing Pagán to become the best version of herself. Delving into Spanish and English lyricism, she’s finally embracing her Puerto Rican roots, paying homage to her mother’s lineage.

Delving into the inspiration behind the song, the talented creative explains: “It is the first track off of an EP centered around the idea of home, and what that means as second-generation, multicultural queer woman”. There’s much more music to come from Pagán, and we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the project.
