The keen reader will gladly remember Edoardo Gastaldi, Italian musician and composer with a knack for cinematic pieces and brooding, introspective aural explorations. Writing about ‘Beatrice’, we proudly described the single as “delivering a cathartic listening experience, offering quaint melodic storytelling that’s abstract but also relatable.” We stand by our words. Gastaldi has certainly struck sonic gold, building a personal brand that’s now been recognised all around the globe, as well as in his homeland.
For instance, if any of you were to be in Venice tomorrow, the 8th of May, Edoardo can be found performing at local art gallery Perfume Art Creation Venezia, on the occasion of the Biennale-linked event Primavera di Opere Olfattive — Poesia e Musica. Through multisensory installations combining art, fragrance, music, poetry, and botanical inspiration, the public is invited to breathe in and experience the essence of spring.
Gastaldi actively collaborates with Goar Sekhian Sanfilippo, the gallery manager, in order to enhance the common aim of generating stronger bonds between artistic forms. The Italian pianist proposes an immersive ambient and atmospheric set, featuring his most soothing, cathartic, and reflective instrumental works, often combined with field-recording experiences. Examples of compositions that will be played are ‘The Waves in the Sea,’ ‘dandelion,’ and ‘To the Sea, We Belong.’
