Surprisingly, this is not the first time we come across a sibling rock duo, but it is indeed the first instance of such a project from Brazil. My Deepest Enigma is the eclectic alt-rock persona of Igor Vasiak (vocals, keyboards, guitars and bass) and Vitória Vasiak (drums and bass), championing an ever-evolving sonic formula that oscillates between traditional early ‘2000s alt-rock tropes and more modern, pop-inspired euphoria.
‘Until The End’ is the perfect example of that, a potent and gritty anthem with a great deal of catchy and evocative lyricism. Following up on previous singles ‘Echoes’ and ‘Enough’, the new record further advances the journey towards My Deepest Enigma’s upcoming album, ‘Eternia’. The listening experience that propels ‘Until The End’ is deeply relatable and brooding, with a constant contrast between Igor’s melancholic vocals and the overarching distortions: at times chaotic, at others more elegant and measured.
This approach is quite different from the group’s previous offerings, which were less focused on rock and more on pop and folk-esque elegance. ‘Until The End’s standout moment can be found in its chorus: the song features stadium-ready, all-out hooks that remain with the listeners even after the track ends. That, coupled with the occasional synth element, marks My Deepest Enigma as more than your average rock outfit: they know how to write music properly, doing so with purpose and creative freedom.
